Leadership Council Update
By Dr. Heather Dawn Clark, Chair drheather@cslcv.org
Experience Financial Freedom
One of our short-term intentions on the Leadership Council is to support all communities to experience real financial freedom. This team is headed by Rev. Dr. Patrick Cameron, who is open to any ideas regarding abundance of resources and elimination of unsecured debt. We know that everything starts with a spiritual idea, so we are looking at ways that we can use our spiritual tools to transform all communities.
Both Patrick and I are blessed to be serving communities that are prosperous and both of us agree that it was our reliance on spiritual principles that allowed us to be strong in this area. We would like to support all communities, regardless of their size or history, to prosper and grow.
We have talked about inviting any communities that want to play to choose a financial goal that they would like to reach by the end of the year. These goals could be having a certain income, reducing or paying off debt, or putting money into savings. A powerful idea that I would like to practice is the 80-10-10 idea: live on 80% of our income, save 10 percent and tithe 10 percent. Then all of us would pray for each other and practice other spiritual principles together. At the end of the year we would see what our clear intentions have produced. There are so many channels that the One Source flows through. If you would like to play, please contact Rev. Dr. Patrick Cameron at revpcameron@centreforspirit.com. His phone number is 780-668-2394.
Ministers Council Update
By Dr. Barbara R. Waterhouse, Chair revbwaterhouse@gmail.com
Share Best Practices at Ministers Gathering
The Minister Council is excited to be offering the first Centers for Spiritual Living Ministers Gathering from October 7 - 10 in beautiful Napa, California. Our meetings will be based at Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living with time to rest, renew, and connect with one another. We will share our best practices and an evening event. As we meet new friends and rekindle old friendships, we will share excursions into the wine country with hiking, walking the vineyards, meditating, and praying with one another.
We have blocked rooms at the Hawthorn Suites, a Wyndham Hotel, at $140 per night for double occupancy. We strongly recommend making your reservations immediately as this area fills up very quickly due to the grape crush that happens in October. There are also many bed and breakfast hotels very close to the Napa Center for a higher price.
Also, all ministers are invited to “Walk the Meadow” Tuesday afternoon, July 30, at Asilomar. This will replace the usual Mini Convo held at Asilomar. We will walk through the archway to the sounds of cheers and into the arms of our beloveds as we re-commit to our ministries through love.
Practitioner Council Update
By Linda Watson, Practitioner Emeritus, Chair lindajoy99@aol.com
The Practitioner Council recently met in Los Angeles for our spring planning meeting. Our weekend culminated at Guidance Church for their Sunday celebration, spiritual home of our Council member, Dee Sermons. We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the congregation by Senior Minister, Rev. Nirvana Gayle, and had the opportunity to connect with some of the wonderful Guidance practitioners. Their choir infused us with their soulful, gospel music, raising and praising Spirit in the highest way.
The Council is putting the final touches on our very exciting Practitioner Leadership Unity Summit program (PLUS) in which we shall be geographically assembling the leaders of the practitioner groups from each center to connect, collaborate, and build a sense of community with each other. Stay tuned for more information.
Our Practitioner Representative program continues its great work of providing avenues for practitioners to stay connected; we are seeking a few more qualified practitioners to fill the remaining regions. To inquire about serving, contact Jeanette@telus.net. Be sure to join the Practitioner Representatives for their next series of quarterly conference calls, which are scheduled for June 15, 17 and 22. These calls have become inspiring opportunities to share ideas and information, engage in spiritual practice, and connect with other Practitioners.
We are in the process of updating the Practitioner Council information on the website and are looking at ways to expand its usefulness as a resource for practitioners.
Also on the horizon is the summer Asilomar conference where the Council will be facilitating a Practitioner Town Hall meeting. Be sure to register soon – word has it that this year’s conference will be a sold out event.
Continuing to hold the highest for Centers for Spiritual Living, each ministry, our ministers, practitioners and laity. We are blessed to be walking this extraordinary path together!

Laity Council Update
By Layne Taylor, Chair
Laity Council ltaylor@cslsimi.org
The Laity Council is continually focused on communicating and connecting with the lay community in a variety of ways; on-line, in person, and at group meetings.
We are inspired and energized by the presence we will have at the upcoming Asilomar conference and the opportunities we will have to connect. In addition to the Laity Council Town Hall session, council members Crystal Davis and Mari Avicolli will be presenting individual workshops. We are so looking forward to meeting together in person as a group for the first time, and presenting an engaging and innovative Town Hall session. Look for some surprises and maybe a “first” – more on that next month.
Council member Pam Lambert has been very active in creating our communication model and has been meeting regularly with her Region 10 counterparts. By the end of this month we will have connected with all of the regional leaders and established a regular communication process with them.
Our council meets every other Friday at 9:00 a.m. PST and we welcome any of the other council members or leadership team to join us. Contact Layne Taylor at ltaylor@cslsimi.org for call-in information. If you receive any inquiries as to how laity can connect with the council or get additional information, please refer them to the members sign-in on the csl.org website. This will add them to our mailing list. They are also always welcome to join our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CSLlaity.
