Convention & Retreat News

I wanted to take a moment to spotlight and thank a major part of the 2014 Spiritual Living Convention in Orlando -- our Volunteers. This year we had two special groups that did an amazing job. These dedicated volunteers are:

The Teen Leadership Team—Syd Kotar, Liam Davis, Josh Chenlee, Camille Johnston, Grayson Hall, Jenna Pekofsky, Liliana Pond, Saskia Brumwell-Blessing, and Tyler Fernald.

The Young Adult Leadership Team—Kristine Anderson, Erik Jensen, Azure Dannels, Evan Dow-Williams, Sara Horton, and Michael Hiraoka.

I am sure you saw their smiling faces greeting you at the general sessions and the workshops. And in my opinion, their biggest job was working in the voting room. Their skills were greatly appreciated by everyone who utilized the voting room and computers. So, in 2015, if we are blessed to have these two wonderful teams as volunteers again, please reach out to them and say THANK YOU and let them know that they are appreciated and honored!

SOM in Barnes and Noble Book Stores

Now through the end of June, you can pick up a copy of Science of Mind magazine in more than 600 Barnes and Noble book stores in the US and Canada. After this promotion ends, each store manager individually decides whether to continue to carry the magazine. We’re extremely excited with the possibilities and we need your support. Please encourage everyone at your center and in your circle to go to any Barnes and Noble and ask for Science of Mind magazine by name. We would love it if they would purchase one or more copies, but the key is that people ask the store managers and employees for the magazine.

A marketing poster for our April issue with the ribbon stating, “Ask for us at Barnes and Noble,” is available in PDF form at www.scienceofmind.com. Even if you sell the magazine in your book store, please encourage everyone to make the conscious effort to ask for it.  Please consider including it in your weekly bulletin, adding it to your web site and your Facebook pages, including it in your blogs and in your talks and hanging the poster high traffic areas in your center.

Discounts for Advertising

Just a reminder that ministers, practitioners and centers can now receive a significant discount on advertising in Science of Mind magazine. So whether you want to spread the word about a special event, dynamic speaker, glorious musician or the great work that you’re doing, contact Tony Lobato at tlobato@csl.org for a quote. And remember, we work several months out so we’re already working on the August and September issues of the magazine.

Free Subscriptions for New Members

A gentle reminder that all of the new members of your center are eligible for a free, six-month subscription to either Science of Mind or Creative Thought magazines. Just send their names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, along with which magazine they would like, to Alan Hubbard, Publishing Business Administrator, at: ahubbard@csl.org.
