Creating and Teaching Your Own Class, Book Study or Workshop

If you have ever wanted to create a class, workshop, or book study, but aren’t sure where to begin, then this class is for you. Each class will focus on the different elements that go into the creation of a class offering beginning with how to create a welcoming learning environment grounded in principle and intention. In addition, participants will learn techniques to facilitate and create engaging activities that involve their students in the learning process. In this highly interactive class, students will have the opportunity to engage with fellow participants through discussion, experientials, and the delivery of lessons based on their chosen topic.The final product will be a class, workshop, or book study that participants can offer to your community.

Materials Needed: Required book – “The Heart of Adult Learning: Ideas, Exercises and Tools for Helping Your Students Grow” by Dr. Alice Bandy

About Rev. Laura Arneson

Rev. Laura Arneson’s spiritual home is Center for Spiritual Living Reno, where she has been an active member since 1991. She became a prayer practitioner in 2009 and completed her ministerial studies in 2021. She is an assistant minister at CSL Reno where her main focus is education and facilitating Women’s Spirit, a women’s ministry. She has several opportunities a year to give the inspirational message on Sundays, which she loves. Her full-time profession of 24 years, is elementary education. Her greatest joys are her daughter, family, golden retriever Yogi, friends, nature, travel, reading, and jigsaw puzzles.
