Online Education Program Course Withdrawal Policy

DISCUSSION

If a student wishes to withdraw from a course through the Online Education Program, the student must follow the procedure listed below. No student is considered dropped from a course until all processes have been completed.

PROCEDURE

Student Procedure

When the decision has been made to withdraw from a course the student is required to complete the process below.

  • Notify the instructor of your decision to withdraw from the course. The instructor may wish to have a conversation regarding this decision.
  • Electronically complete the Online Education Course Withdrawal form and email to the Education Program Coordinator, Rev. James Peak.
    *Students are not considered withdrawn from a course until this form has been received by CSL Home Office. Qualification for tuition refunds will be determined by the day the Course Withdrawal form is sent to the Education Program Coordinator. (See Refund Policy for details.)
  • If you qualify, you must request a refund from the Education Program Coordinator as indicated on the Course Withdrawal form. Refunds are not automatically applied for any student and you MUST request a refund in order for this to be processed.

Online Education Program Course Refund Policy

The policy listed below applies to courses offered within the CSL Online Education Program that extend 6 weeks or longer and does not apply to 4-week courses*.

  1. Students may cancel enrollment or withdraw from a course at any time. Students are required to complete the Online Education Program Course Withdrawal form and return to the Education Program Coordinator. The date this form is received determines eligibility for a refund. Students may request a refund if withdrawal is indicated within the refund period. Please note that students are responsible for notifying Home Office of their intent to withdraw from a course by submitting the Course Withdrawal form. You are not fully withdrawn from a course until you notify Home Office.
  2. The refund period ends the day before the 4th class for one-term certificated courses and the day before the 4th class of each term for Practitioner Training. Refund requests must be made prior to the 4th class and are determined by the date the student submits the Course Withdrawal form to the Education Program Coordinator. The student is not officially withdrawn from the course until this course has been received.
  3. Refund requests made within the refund period will be calculated as follows for one-term certificated courses lasting at least 6 weeks:
    a) Before 1st class: 100% of class tuition, registration fee and technology fee refunded. Payment plan fee is non-refundable.
    b) Between 1st class and the day before the 4th class: Students will be refunded the remaining class tuition minus the registration fee and technology fee. Payment plan fee is non-refundable.
  4. Examples of refund on a 10-week class that costs $250 tuition + $45 registration fee + $10 technology fee ($305 total cost to student).
    a) Before class 1: $250 tuition, $45 registration fee and $10 technology fee = $305 refunded.
    b) Before class 2: $225 tuition refunded. Registration and technology fee forfeited.
    c) Before class 3: $200 tuition refunded. Registration and technology fee forfeited.
    d) Before class 4: $175 tuition refunded. Registration and technology fee forfeited.
    e) After class 4: No refund.
  5. Refund requests made within the refund period will be calculated as follows for Practitioner Training:

Term 1

a) Before 1st class: 100% of class tuition, retreat fee, registration fee and technology fee refunded. Payment plan fee is non-refundable.
b) Between 1st class and the day before the 4th class of term 1: Students will be refunded the remaining class tuition of term 1, 100% of any tuition paid for terms 2 & 3, and 100% of the retreat fee. Registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable.
c) After the 4th class of term 1: Students will be refunded 100% of tuition paid for terms 2 & 3 and 100% of the retreat fee. Tuition for term 1, registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable.

Term 2

a) Before 1st class of term 2: 100% of class tuition and fees for terms 2 & 3 and retreat fee, refunded. Payment plan fee is non-refundable.
b) Between 1st class and the day before the 4th class of term 2: Students will be refunded the remaining class tuition of term 2 and 100% of tuition paid for term 3. Registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable. Students may be eligible for a partial refund of the retreat fee.
c) After the 4th class of term 2: Students will be refunded 100% of tuition paid for term 3. Tuition for terms 1 & 2, registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable. Students may be eligible for a partial refund of the retreat fee.

Term 3

a) Before 1st class of term 3: 100% of class tuition and fees for term 3 refunded. Payment plan fee and retreat fee are non-refundable.
b) Between 1st class and the day before the 4th class of term 3: Students will be refunded the remaining class tuition of term 3. Retreat fee, registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable.
c) After the 4th class of term 3: Students are not eligible for any refund. Tuition for terms 1, 2 & 3, retreat fee, registration fee, technology fee and payment plan fees are non-refundable.

6. Refunds are processed in the form in which they were paid. Those students who register and pay online will be issued a refund electronically to the card with which tuition was originally paid.

7. Registrations utilizing a payment plan or those paying by check will need to contact home office directly in order to process a refund. Refunds will be issued as a check and may take 4 to 6 weeks to process.

*Refund policy for courses less than 6 weeks courses differ from that listed above. Refunds for these courses are reviewed and issued on a case-by-case basis. Students may or may not be refunded for classes not attended once withdrawn from the course, depending on the course registered for. Once the course has begun, processing fees will be forfeited and students will not receive this money in any refund.
