Member Council Update
By Layne Taylor, Chair
What an extraordinary time we had at the convention in Las Vegas! We learned, connected, created change and launched our council into the New Year with joy.
Our lobby table gave us a wonderful opportunity to connect with our Centers and expand our contact list. We had great fun with our prize drawings and giveaways. We are so grateful to the ministers and authors who donated prize items. Gratitude and energy just radiated from “Member Council Central.”
And wait — did I say “Member Council?” That’s right! Our ballot measure to change the name of our council from “Laity Council” to “Member Council” was approved by the convention delegates. We are pleased to move forward with a new and clearer way to designate those lay people in the congregations or communities who are not Ministers or Practitioners.

We also elected two council members to fill those terms that were completed, and appointed another to fill a vacancy. We welcome new members Kimberly Davis and David Chatman, who join returning members Jackie Martin, Crystal Davis and Neil Pinkman. The chemistry and skills of our new council are tremendous and we look forward to much progress this year. We’d also like to thank outgoing members Neil Williams and Pam Lambert. Your presence and contributions were so valuable in moving us forward.
We were thrilled that former council member Susan Hopkins was honored with the Lay Member award, presented by our own Pam Lambert.
We look forward to discovering new ways that we can be of service in reaching out to the members of our spiritual communities with inspiration, information, and ideas.

In Light, Love and Joyful Service,
