The Prez Report

Rev. Dr. John B. WaterhouseBy Rev. Dr. John B. Waterhouse, President

Our 2015 Spiritual Living Convention was a great success. A remarkable amount of information was shared, and there was a general consensus that we accomplished Dr. Jhon Waterhouse at conventiona great deal in our time together.

During our business meeting, I shared these 2014 achievements and ideas about where we are headed in 2015.

In our education structure, we have more than 75 volunteer positions on 10 committees and subcommittees, as well as four Home Office staff members who are entirely focused on education and a director who oversees all their activities.

Our Ministerial Education Subcommittee is meeting weekly to develop a unified program with multiple delivery systems. Its proposal should reach the Leadership Council this June with enrollment planned for September.

Dianna FergusonBatch online registration for Centers and Teaching Chapters is now available for registering students all at once and paying fees with a single online transaction. To sign up, contact Dianna Ferguson in our Education Department at dferguson@csl.org.

Online Education is now an official program of Centers for Spiritual Living. First quarter enrollment is under way. If you have students who want to take a course that is not offered in a Center, they can take it online. Visit: bit.ly/CSLOnlineClasses

Also, our updated education catalog reflecting changes in policy and course content is now available on our internal website.

Virtual Ministry is our newest category of Member Community. Policies and procedures, including criteria and competencies for teaching certified courses online, are being established.

Youth Education now resides with our Education Department. Anyone interested in youth curriculum development can contact Rev. Nicole Merges at the Home Office at nmerges@csl.org.

We have a strategic plan! With more than 100 contributors working on various aspects, our plan consists of 83 Twenty-Year Visionary Intentions, 76 Five-Year Objectives, and 76 Two-Year Outcomes. To learn more, log on to our internal website, STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE at the bottom of the user menu. There you’ll find a progress dashboard, executive summary, and our 20-year vision. Spiritual Living Circles Update

And finally, we celebrate our nearly 600 Spiritual Living Circles in 30 countries around the world. Every week, more than 1,000 discussion guides are sent to circle participants, all of whom are offered a free starter online subscription to Science of Mind magazine. Rev. Keith Cox is looking at initiating young adult circles on college campuses. My dream is to have Science of Mind articles and discussion guides translated into Spanish and Russian each week so that our circle program can expand worldwide. If you’re interested in helping with this project, please contact me.

So many blessings!
