There are several categories of classes: History, Philosophy, Consciousness, and Foundational courses. We suggest you begin with a course in the Foundational category, but you may begin with any class that sounds interesting to you. Some classes will include a disclaimer that recommends you not skip a Foundational level course before taking them.

By clicking on the course name in the list you can find a description of the course and any required texts.

At the bottom of the linked Certificated Courses page there is a graphic with information about what classes you might want to take if you’re looking for prerequisites to continue on with your education past certificated coursework.

IN PERSON CLASSES

Certificated Courses are available at Centers for Spiritual Living organizations around the world and online. Your first step is to look on the CSL map page to see if there is a Center, Teaching Chapter, Teaching Center, or Focus Ministry near you. Then find out what Certificated Classes they are teaching.

Fall 2024 and Beyond

Beginning August 1, 2024, you can find CSL organizations around the world teaching a selection of online courses on this webpage. (Check back here August 1, 2024.)

Some people decide after completing several classes to pursue Advanced Consciousness Studies. You can take Advanced Consciousness Studies for your own personal growth, or you can take it as the first half of Professional Practitioner Training.

Advanced Consciousness Studies requires three prerequisite Certificated Courses.

People who want to use the knowledge they obtain through their certificated coursework and Advanced Consciousness Studies to help others can go on to take Professional Practitioner Studies.

Professional Practitioner Studies requires six prerequisite classes in addition to Advanced Consciousness Studies. Though you may register for Advanced Consciousness Studies with only three prerequisite Certificated Courses, we suggest you take six Certificated Courses before beginning Advance Consciousness training if you think you might want to go on to Professional Practitioner studies. You will not be able to move on to Professional Practitioner studies until you’ve taken all six of your prerequisite Certificated Courses.
