Join us in Reno, April 7–10, 2026
What happens when spiritual leaders stop running their centers long enough to be held by community? What happens when members commit to opening their hearts and time to learning more about the spiritual movement that caught their interest? How does attending convention grow the commitment of ministerial and practioner students? Find out by attending the Spiritual Living Convention!
The Spiritual Living Convention isn’t just another professional development event—it’s the biennial gathering where CSL ministers, practitioners, and lay leaders come home to themselves. For four days in Reno, you’ll step away from board meetings, budget concerns and the weight of holding space for everyone else. Here, YOU get held. YOU get refilled. YOU remember why you said yes to this movement in the first place.
Together in Joy: Honoring, Connecting, Growing isn’t just our theme—it’s what actually happens when we gather. You’ll honor the lineage and legacy that brought us here through powerful ceremony and storytelling. You’ll connect deeply with colleagues who become your lifeline. And you’ll grow through workshops that address real challenges: sustainability, governance, member engagement, burnout and building thriving communities in changing times.
This convention isn’t just an event on the calendar; it is a dedicated space for Honoring, Connecting and Growing as a collective. Whether you are leading a community, holding the high watch in prayer or looking for a deeper way to live your truth, this gathering in Reno is designed to meet you exactly where you are.
This Convention Delivers What Attendees Actually Need
Transformative Keynote from Cynthia James
Cynthia James brings decades of wisdom on authentic leadership and spiritual resilience. Her keynote will shift how you show up in your ministry and reignite your passion for the work. If you’ve been questioning your calling or feeling depleted, Cynthia meets you exactly where you are and reminds you why you’re here.

Practical Workshops That Equip You for Real Transformation
No theoretical fluff. These 90-minute interactive sessions are designed by CSL leaders to address the real challenges of running thriving spiritual communities. We’re currently reviewing workshop proposals from ministers, practitioners, and experienced leaders across the movement.
Workshop topics will focus on practical skills and solutions you can implement immediately—from governance and sustainability to member engagement, spiritual practice development and everything in between.
Confirmed workshop schedule will be announced in February, giving you time to plan which sessions best serve your ministry and leadership role.
Connection That Becomes Your Lifeline
The hallway conversations. The late-night processing sessions. The colleague who becomes your accountability partner. The practitioner network that supports your growth. These connections often matter more than the sessions themselves—and they last for years.
Here’s Why Reno Is Perfect
We chose Reno specifically because it’s accessible and affordable for our West Coast community—where the majority of CSL centers are located. Less travel time means more time with your people. The Peppermill Resort is an all-inclusive oasis where you won’t need to leave the property (but the Sierra Nevada sunrises are stunning if you do).
And here’s what makes 2026 different from any convention we’ve offered before:
What’s Included in Your Registration:
✓ All general sessions, workshops and spiritual practices
✓ TWO catered lunches (typically not included)
✓ Welcome reception
✓ All materials and resources
✓ Hotel shuttle service from the airport (every 30 minutes, free)
✓ Free parking at the resort (saves $30+)
✓ Two bottles of water daily in your room (complimentary)
✓ Resort fees waived (saves $120 for 3 nights)
Let’s do the math: Yes, registration is $50 more than 2024. But between the waived resort fees ($120), included lunches (easily $60+ value), airport shuttle and parking, you’re actually getting significantly MORE value than you’re paying for.
This is our first price adjustment in over a decade, and we’ve added substantial benefits to ensure you’re getting exceptional value.
This Convention Is For You If…
You’re a Minister navigating succession planning, board dynamics, financial sustainability, or simply feeling the weight of leadership isolation. You’ll connect with colleagues who understand exactly what you’re carrying.
You’re a Practitioner building or expanding your practice. You’ll connect with potential referral partners and other practitioners who can share what’s working in their ministries.
You’re a Lay Leader (board member, committee chair, volunteer coordinator) committed to your center’s growth. You’ll connect with leaders from other centers who can share insights and strategies.
You’re on Staff (administrator, marketing/communications director, bookkeeper, music director, youth director) supporting your center’s operations. You’ll connect with others in similar roles who understand the unique challenges of working in spiritual community.
You’re Questioning Your Path or feeling burned out. You’ll be held in community, reminded of your calling, and given permission to refill your own well so you can continue serving from overflow rather than depletion.
You’re New to CSL Leadership. You’ll be welcomed into a community that remembers what it’s like to be new, and you’ll build relationships that will support your entire journey.

Your Community Is Waiting for You in Reno
Those who attend this convention consistently say the same thing: “I almost didn’t come. I’m so glad I did.”
They almost didn’t come because:
- They thought they couldn’t afford the time away
- They weren’t sure the location sounded exciting
- They wondered if it was “worth it”
- They felt guilty investing in themselves
And then they came. And everything shifted.
Because CSL Convention isn’t about fancy venues or big production. It’s about sitting across from someone who understands your struggles and says “here’s what worked for us.” It’s about the workshop that gives you exactly the framework your board needs. It’s about remembering you are part of something bigger than your community’s four walls (or Zoom room).
Four days. Reno. April 7–10, 2026.
Your community will still be there when you get back. But YOU will be different. Refilled. Reconnected. Ready.
Make the investment. Your community—and your own spirit—will thank you.

Breakout Session I – Thursday, April 9 – 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Choose one of these five sessions:
Money Is Spirit Expressed with JessYca Moberg, RScP, and Harris Silcott, RScP
This experiential workshop invites participants into a gentle inner journey exploring their relationship with money through abundance and consciousness. Rooted in Science of Mind teachings, money is reframed as Spirit expressed in form. Rather than focusing on budgets or strategies, participants explore how money lives in their body and nervous system, uncovering unconscious patterns beneath intentions and affirmations. Through guided meditation, somatic inquiry and paired reflection, discover where you experience contraction or openness. * Participants are encouraged to bring a pen and journal or paper for notes and reflection.
Music as Medicine with Jason Warner
Step into the ancient practice of music as medicine—a healing technology honored across Indigenous cultures, spiritual traditions and modern consciousness work. This trauma-aware, fully accessible ceremony begins with grounding and intention-setting to create a safe container, then moves through guided breath awareness, live sound healing using voice and sacred instruments, and a collective manifestation practice where sound and spoken intention align with your personal and communal visions. No musical experience required. Leave with practical tools for your personal practice, plus renewed joy, clarity and inner alignment.
From Wound to Wisdom: Healing Gender & Sexual Identity with Lu Evergreen and Rev. Christine Monks
Through guided worksheets and intimate storytelling, participants examine messages they’ve received about gender and sexuality in their religious upbringing—and how these shaped their beliefs about God, religion and themselves. At a time when the world feels divided, experience how storytelling creates connection and recognizes oneness. Leave having rewritten your story from empowerment and Divine Truth—seen and honored for exactly who you are. *Participants are encouraged to bring a pen or writing utensil.
Collaboration, Not Competition with Lee Valentine and Suzette Celeste Johnson, RScP
Our teaching affirms there’s abundance for all. The key is collaboration, not competition. This workshop shares how three Oakland CSL centers leveraged their shared mission as a “force multiplier,” accomplishing collectively what they couldn’t individually. Through their Sacred Activism/Social Justice case study, participants will vision collaborative relationships, share successful examples, define ways to work with CSL and non-CSL communities, brainstorm solutions to barriers and create an implementation framework for their home community.
Honoring Our Roots: Connecting Deeper, Growing Strong Communities with Rev. Kathy Mastroiani
Healthy movements grow from strong roots. For Science of Mind, those roots live in its source teachings, formative voices and lived history. This workshop invites ministers, practitioners, board members and community leaders to reconnect with those roots through the Science of Mind Archives. Led by the Archives’ Executive Director, Board President and Theologian and board members with deep historical knowledge, participants explore what resources are available, why they matter today and how to use them creatively for personal practice, ministry, leadership and community engagement.
Breakout Session II – Thursday, April 9 – 2:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Choose one of these five sessions:
Money Mastery in Minutes with Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis
Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis—who has guided 500+ students to financial flourishing—shares the proven principles that have kept CSL Seattle thriving through moves, challenges and change. You’ll create your personal definition of Thriving, discover how Nature models abundance and use guided exercises to dissolve the subconscious blocks limiting your financial flow. This isn’t another workshop full of ideas—it’s an experiential journey where you’ll shift your Prosperity Identity in real time and anchor yourself in the unshakable truth that God is your source. Leave with greater clarity, ease and alignment with your divine potential for abundance.
The Land Remembers You: Indigenous Wisdom for Belonging, Healing, and Spiritual Connection with Rev. Dr. Jackie Cope, Ed.D
Land is not backdrop—it is living relative and teacher. Through Washoe land teachings from the Lake Tahoe region, this experiential workshop bridges ancient relational wisdom with New Thought expression. Beginning with acknowledgment of Washoe homelands, participants engage an Ancestral Land Awareness Audit—exploring whose homelands you occupy, what relations are connected to those lands, and how awareness invites spiritual reciprocity and humility. Through contemplative practices and community sharing, discover how land-based awareness supports healing and belonging across diverse spiritual identities. *Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or notebook. A phone or device capable of scanning QR codes is recommended for optional reflection resources.
Cyber Security Smart for Communities with Rev. James Peak, CSL Director of IT
Protect what matters most—your community and personal data. This practical workshop raises awareness about cybersecurity threats and provides actionable steps to minimize data exposure for both individuals and spiritual communities. Learn essential security practices that safeguard sensitive information, member data, and organizational systems. The session also includes an accessible overview of common AI tools and their applications, bringing clarity and understanding for those new to artificial intelligence in personal or organizational contexts. Discover how AI can support ministry work while maintaining ethical boundaries and security protocols. Whether you’re tech-savvy or technology-curious, leave with practical knowledge to protect your digital presence and confidence to explore emerging tools. Walking in Wisdom with Rev. Marquita Pierre-McAllister
Ministry is never a solitary path—it’s shaped and sustained by those who walk beside us when we first say yes. This workshop honors that lineage while growing the future of CSL ministry Together in Joy. Ministers will explore two newly developed, field-tested resources: the Ordination Application Rubric (OAR) and the Sponsor/Mentor Handbook. Designed for Sponsors (ordained ministers) and Mentors (licensed ministers with 2+ years of service), these tools offer shared language, ethical clarity, and spiritual grounding for sacred guidance roles. Rooted in Science of Mind principles, participants engage in guided reflection on their own sponsorship journey, small-group dialogue, and case study exploration of real-world challenges. Experience joy not as superficial positivity, but as conscious recognition of shared purpose, mutual support, and the sacred privilege of walking together in ministry. *Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or notebook and pen.
Authentic Voices: Our Understandings and Oneness Practice with Ayanna L. Kiburi and Aimée Barnes
How do we move beyond talking about differences to truly embodying Oneness and Love in our communities? If you’re ready to explore that question with honesty, compassion, and spiritual depth, this session is for you. In this 90-minute immersive experience, Authentic Voices invites you to practice Cultural Humility through the power of story. Drawing from the Authentic Voices: Our Stories performance, we’ll explore the Four Pillars of Cultural Humility — Active Listening, Self-Awareness, Being Trauma-Informed, and Strength-Based Practice — as tools for spiritual and relational growth. Expect sharing, reflection, and dialogue that move beyond theory into embodiment. You’ll practice transforming discomfort into curiosity and conversation into connection — deepening your capacity to serve from a place of dignity, belonging, and grace. Come curious. Leave connected. Return to your community ready to co-create.
Breakout Session III – Friday, April 10 – 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Choose one of these four sessions:
Visioning to Heal America: Becoming the Keepers of the Next Great Vision with Rev. Stephanie Clarke
Profound social change begins with consciousness—individuals and communities holding a higher vision before it becomes visible. In Science of Mind, ideas held together in agreement gain creative power. This workshop invites ministers, practitioners and spiritual leaders to become modern-day vision keepers, holding a unifying, life-affirming vision for America during painful division. Rather than focusing on external conditions, participants engage in collective Visioning focused on healing polarization, restoring compassion, and awakening Oneness. Explore how spiritual insight invites inspired action by listening for when Spirit calls us to move. Learn a gentle, accessible process for spiritual listening that supports discernment without technical language. See yourself as part of an ongoing network of conscious leaders continuing to meet, listen, and align with shared vision for the nation’s spiritual evolution. *Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or notebook and pen.
Belonging by Design: Building Engagement Pathways for Young Adults and Families with Chris-Grayson Diamond and Anthony DiPaola
What if belonging isn’t a recruitment challenge, but a relational system you can intentionally design? This workshop reframes engagement for spiritual communities navigating complex, modern lives. Drawing on insights from CSL leaders working with families and young adults, participants explore how assumptions, language and structures either widen or restrict pathways into connection. Through guided reflection, story-based exploration and structured dialogue, you’ll examine your own community context—noticing what’s already resonant, reflecting on how language shapes participation and identifying small, realistic shifts that increase accessibility and care. This isn’t about urgency or deficit—it’s about building the conditions where joy arises naturally through shared ownership, meaningful participation and compassionate connection across generations. Leave feeling less alone in the questions you carry, more grounded in your capacity to respond with clarity and more hopeful about what’s possible when communities design pathways together. *Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or paper and pen for personal reflection.
From Church in a Box to Ministry of Spiritual Abundance: A Ministry of Outreach, Justice and Sacred Strategy with Rev. Dr. Tynya Beverly
Expand your center’s impact through a holistic ministry framework rooted in four pillars: Outreach & Community Engagement, Social Justice & Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Strategic Partnerships and Organizational Development. Discover how spiritual communities become not only places of worship, but hubs of belonging, justice and sustainable transformation. Explore how spiritual leadership integrates strategy with sacred care, learn models of outreach and justice rooted in New Thought principles and gain insights into building sustainable systems that protect mission and empower people. Through interactive small-group dialogue, identify barriers your community faces and transform them into possibilities using Spirit, justice and collective care. Leave inspired to activate transformation in your own community, understanding that organizational development creates the sacred container allowing Spirit’s abundance to flow sustainably. *Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or notebook and pen. Comfortable seating or cushion recommended for meditation and contemplative practices.
Together in Joy: Building Resonant Community through T’ai Chi Chih with Rev. Dr. Christina Tillotson
Experience joy, presence and community through T’ai Chi Chih—Joy Through Movement. This experiential workshop introduces ministers, practitioners and lay leaders to an embodied approach rooted in New Thought principles. Learn six core T’ai Chi Chih movements that are gentle, flowing and adaptable for diverse physical abilities. Standing movements emphasize ease, presence and inward listening rather than perfection. Experience how moving together in shared rhythm fosters coherence, calm and felt connection—within yourself and with the group. Explore how T’ai Chi Chih naturally aligns with Science of Mind teachings on consciousness, resonance and spiritual practice. Discover practical ways to integrate embodied movement into worship services, retreats, classes and community gatherings as a form of living prayer. Leave with a lived experience of joy through movement and tools for strengthening thriving CSL communities through awareness and shared experience. *Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for gentle standing movement.
